ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, service and test low voltage systems including fire alarm, access control, CCTV, security, structured cabling, nurse call, etc..
Assist with Special Projects and service calls.
Continuous learning of new products, upgrades and software programs related to low voltage systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Graduate
5 years minimum in the Low Voltage systems field
Power Limited License (PLT) required.
Computer Science certificate preferred.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail.
Problem solving skills.
Proficient PC and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience.
Ability and flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and dependability.
Ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines.
Computer Networking knowledge.
Notifier, Brivo, Hanwha, AMAG, Genetec experience preferred.
Willing to be in our on-call rotation.
Valid drivers license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job operates at high-end residential and commercial job sites; and is exposed to weather conditions.
Employees are frequently required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl and occasionally required to sit.
This position requires the ability, and bend or stand as necessary.
This position requires the ability to move and/or lift objects regularly up to 50 pounds.
PROGRAM INFORMATION
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to pass the Electrician’s Trade Aptitude Test.
Attend class one day per week through Joint Apprenticeship Training Program (free).
Work as an apprentice AV technician 40 hours per week.
Wages are based on the union scale and increase based on the number of hours worked
Typically the program takes three (3) years to complete and become licensed, however there is the ability to test out of areas which may reduce the program length.
