Essential Job Functions:
Perform Repairs and Maintenance on Fleet and Equipment
Execute routine maintenance and specialized repairs on company fleet and equipment as needed, ensuring operational readiness.
Diagnose and Repair Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, and Air Systems
Utilize expertise in diesel and gas engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspensions to diagnose and repair various systems.
Monitor Shop Condition and Ensure Safety Compliance
Oversee shop cleanliness, safety, and equipment condition, reporting issues and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
Create and Manage Staff, Maintenance, and Work Schedules
Develop and oversee work schedules, ensuring optimal workflow and staffing for efficient operations.
Ongoing Quality Checks of Maintenance Performance
Continuously evaluate the maintenance work performed by the crew to ensure high standards of quality.
Review Work Orders and Streamline Repair Workflows
Analyze work orders, address discrepancies, and optimize repair processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
Maintain Service Records and Compliance Documentation
Keep detailed service records, DOT documentation, and ensure adherence to EPA, OSHA, and company regulations.
Conduct Annual DOT Inspections
Perform or oversee required DOT inspections on vehicles annually, ensuring regulatory compliance.
Weekly Parts Inventory Review and Organization
Regularly review, organize, and manage parts inventory to support ongoing maintenance and repair activities.
Daily Communication with Management on Project Status
Provide regular updates to management on the status of ongoing projects, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Qualifications:
Supervisory and Mechanical Experience
Minimum of 2+ years in a supervisory role within a shop environment, combined with 3-4 years of hands-on mechanical experience with heavy power equipment.
Extensive Vehicle Knowledge and Diagnostic Skills
Deep understanding of vehicles and equipment, with the ability to diagnose and solve complex repair issues.
Strong Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Abilities
Effective at identifying issues, making informed decisions, and finding solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills
Strong verbal and written communication, paired with the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Attention to Detail and Quality Focus
Diligent, precise, and disciplined, with the ability to balance detail orientation with a sense of urgency.
Integrity and Ethical Behavior
Acts responsibly, ethically, and honestly in all situations, demonstrating a high level of integrity.
Physical Requirements: Standing for longer periods of time, manual dexterity, bending, sitting, walking, scooping, kneeling, twisting, turning, and climbing. Able to work in a typical shop environment exposed to outdoor elements.
