Purpose/Introduction

Performance Pipe is currently seeking a Shift Supervisor to join our team at the Bloomfield, Iowa plant. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing all activities necessary to produce products in a safe (incident-free) and reliable manner. The role has a personnel accountability of approximately 8 employees.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and ensures a safe working environment with quality results.

• Directs, supervises and motivates a team of employees to produce expected results while optimizing assets, inventory, equipment, and manpower.

• Assumes an active, hands-on role in the production process, utilizing initiative, planning, organizing, motivational and leadership skills.

• Trains in injection molding skills and techniques.

• Provides mentoring to new operators/setups.

• Ensures accurate reporting of production and inventory levels of production items.

• Works with maintenance to ensure proper function and maintenance of equipment.

• Learn, understand and abide by all aspects of the Union contract.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.

• Previous supervisory experience and/or extensive experience as a leader in a manufacturing facility.

• Ability to work alternating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

• Mechanical aptitude and analytical skills.

• Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel).

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills promoting teamwork.

• Strong safety focus.

• Excellent leadership skills.

• Solid teamwork philosophy.

• Comprehensive manufacturing knowledge.

• A positive attitude, strong organizational and communications skills.
