The Fixtures department at the Otis Service Center in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a electro-mechanical technician for its Fixtures operations. The hours are 2nd shift: 3:00PM -11:30PM.

On a typical day you will:

  • Following all EH&S and safety policies and procedures

  • Assembly, wiring, and harnessing tasks on a cross section of electronic components such as the following:

  • Complex assemblies

  • Sub-assemblies

  • Cutting

  • Crimping

  • Point-to-point wiring

  • Harness installation

  • Adhere to OTIS three Absolutes SAFETY, ETHICS and QUALITY

Physical Demand:

If an item weighs more than 50 lbs., employee must ask for assistance in lifting and/or use the appropriate crane, forklift or other lifting devises and/or techniques

Walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning, bending/stooping, crawling, crouching, kneeling/squatting, sitting, reaching above shoulder height, reaching forward, lifting (maximum 50 pounds), carrying, pushing/pulling, handling, feeling, digital dexterity, wrist flexion/extension, power grip, working speed, talking, hearing, seeing (with color vision) depth perception

Must be able to wear/use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

What You Will Need to be Successful:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.

  • A certificate from a trade school or 3-5 years of relative experience is preferred.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Must have a safety mindset including the ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.

  • Must be able to adhere to assigned work schedule, including start time and annual inventory.

  • Must have good manual dexterity, the ability to read and interpret complex drawings, prints, and wiring schematics.

  • The successful candidate should have good interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills as well as possess a positive attitude with the ability to work independently.

  • The successful candidate should be able to accommodate changes in production and work schedules in order to meet deadlines.

  • Must possess demonstrated knowledge and understanding of electronic assembly and wiring is preferred.
