Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd., a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., a dynamic and growing East Coast family company, with Platinum Member status in Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program, is offering a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Company’s team in Charlotte County NB as Aquaculture Maintenance Support for our Atlantic Canada on land aquaculture facilities.

The Role
Positions offer full-time, year-round employment.
Primary duties include:
Support Hatchery teams with regular maintenance activities, installations, repairs, and projects primarily in Charlotte Co. New Brunswick but including occasional travel to KCS hatcheries in the Atlantic provinces.
Troubleshoot problems and provide recommendations for problem resolution.
Assist Hatchery teams with fish handling equipment.
Understand and support the operation of incoming water, effluent, monitoring systems, generators, oxygen, emergency procedures.
On call - respond to emergency maintenance repair requests as required – including weekends and evenings.
Follow proper biosecurity, safety and other company policies and procedures.
Manage inventory of consumables and replacement parts and prioritize work orders.
Coordinate and work with external contractors, work with internal engineers and project planners.
Liaise with other project and maintenance groups as appropriate.
Develop and update maintenance SOPs.
Obtain quotes from vendors as needed.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player who possesses excellent problem-solving skills with a strong mechanical aptitude. Periodic travel to interprovincial freshwater facilities and the ability to be on-call is a requirement. Preference will be given to applicants who have practical background of aquaculture systems, preventative maintenance, and inventory monitoring. Hands-on ability and certification with Electrical, PLC, or Mechanical Engineering are considered assets.
