Job Title

Truck Driver & Field Operations Technician

Position Reports To

Plant Manager

Nonexempt Hourly

Purpose:

The position exists to safely operate heavy trucks in the transportation of product from the production facilities to the customer or end user, as well as fulfilling other transportation and field operations needs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Safely performing assigned work and look out for the safety of others
• Assisting the dispatcher and agronomists with solving customer needs
• Ensuring timely delivery of the correct product to the customer (chemical and fertilizer) in accordance with company procedure & practice
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles
• Operating and maintain company vehicles in a safe, compliant and efficient manner
• Performing maintenance and repairs on field tanks, transfer and injection pumps, liquid trailers, dolly trailers, semi-trucks, etc.
• Delivering and set up of field tanks, liquid trailers, dollies, pumps, etc.
• Maintaining appearance of work truck to ensure public image is positive
• Maintaining regular daily coordination and communication with the plant, agronomists, and the rest of the team
• Being available to solve urgent customer issues and situations. This may include occasional evening or weekend calls to fix pumps, leaks, etc.
• Maintaining record of and be accountable for each asset set in the field, and the collection and return of those to the headquarters. This includes washing, repairing, and maintaining

Off season/winter duties include:

• Repair and maintenance of pumps, dollies, and liquid trailers
• Completion of yard projects, such as facility construction & repair, maintenance of trucks and trailers, and repairs on plant equipment, etc.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of verifiable truck driving experience required (exceptions may be made based on other relevant experience)
• CDL with acceptable driving record required
• Prior agricultural truck driving experience preferred
• HAZMAT endorsement preferred
• Good teamwork and communication skills preferred

Requirements:

• Sit, stand, lift frequently; occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds
• Bend, twist, climb, reach, kneel, crawl frequently
• Typical visual and auditory abilities required (with or without medically prescribed correction)
