Summary THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This ND National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION), Position Description Number D2490000 and is part of the ND G6, National Guard. Responsibilities Serves as project leader/supervisor responsible for developing, assigning, and coordinating duties and projects for systems administrators. Serves as the senior systems administrator responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting to support customer needs. Provides executive leadership, guidance, and direction to ensure acquisition, development, and retention of a professional, highly capable workforce to accomplish assigned missions. Establishes performance standards and evaluates employee performance. Reviews and recommends approval of, candidates for promotions and recognition. Collaborates with other supervisors and managers within the directorate to negotiate, decide on, or coordinate work-related changes affecting them. Advises their supervisor with broader and higher responsibilities on problems involving the relationship of the work of the system administration teams to broader programs, and its impact on IT Services. Resolves inquiries and problems concerning access, use, and availability of datacenter technologies. Develops and enhances automated systems to improve performance and efficiency. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications PCS STATEMENT: PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION COSTS WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THIS POSITION. MILITARY GRADES: Warrant Officer (CW3-CW5) and Officer (O3-O4) QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience at the GS 11 level which includes: 1) Maintaining computer and network systems software and hardware and documenting physical configurations and operating procedures; 2) Applying IT policies, procedures, and regulations to establish compliant IT system requirements; and 3) Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed, which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Education To receive credit for education, you must provide supporting documentation of proof that you meet the education requirements for this position.
