What will you do as a Quality Control Technician?

As part of the Operations Team, the Quality Control Technician is responsible for quality control functions including inventory control and auditing to assure company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved. The QC Technician conducts product age studies as required by company’s standard operating procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Test syrup and water to ensure they meet KORE requirements.

  • Understand mixing instructions and requirements.

  • Inventory raw materials to prep for production.

  • Evaluate sanitation effectiveness and respond to emerging deficiencies.

  • Set up equipment in preparation for use by manually lifting and moving equipment and/or chemicals and/or concentrates.

  • Assess and rectify problems on all equipment.

  • Read, understand and follow standard operating procedures.

  • Conduct product testing as required by KORE.

  • Oversight of calibration program.

  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and processes.

  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices and safety standards.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED, minimum.

  • Food or chemical industry work experience preferred.

  • Forklift certification a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Good computer skills including literacy with Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Familiarity with lab safety and handling of hazardous materials.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Work in a manufacturing environment; sustained posture in a standing position for prolonged periods of time.

  • Work involves walking, talking and hearing, lifting over 50 lbs, and using hands to handle, feel or operate objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus when using computer terminal.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

  • As required with regard to hazardous materials and operations. May include protection from hazardous chemicals, cuts, or damage to hearing or vision.

  • Hearing protection dependent on specified areas.

  • Face shield and gloves mandatory while filling CO2.

  • Hair nets if working on open container end of the lines.

  • Safety glasses

  • Steel/ceramic toed boots with slip resistant sole.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The noise level in the work environment can be moderately high due to manufacturing and/or warehousing equipment in operation.

  • Some areas are slippery due to the production process.

  • Warehouse area has heavy forklift travel.
