Job Description

Position Title: Enterprise Applications Administrator I, II, III, or Sr

OPEN UNTIL FILLED

Department/Location: Information Technology/Bismarck, ND

Position Purpose:

Assists with the conceptualizing, designing, development, implementation, maintenance, support, and enhancement of enterprise and standard application products used throughout the Cooperative to meet business objectives. This position is assigned to specific software applications that utilize various technology platforms to include client/server and web-based/SaaS applications. This position is identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) related position, which may allow physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber related assets or systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with the business units in gathering and reviewing requirements. Participate in the analysis, administration and implementation of those requirements. Conduct assessments of current technology of software solutions and research to align new technologies to meet the business objectives.

  • Identify and document issues, risks or critical success factors that may require immediate actions.

  • Assist in designing, developing, evaluating, installing, configuring, analyzing, debugging and documenting processes including quality assurance testing.

  • Assist with the planning, designing, coordination and implementation of security measures and control processes to safeguard the Cooperative computer systems.

  • This position collaborates with internal and external customers and works with Information Technology (IT) colleagues to ensure compliance of technology solutions and participates in the full application life cycle. This position may assist with project leadership for small projects, and work with others to meet project deadlines.

  • Develop business relationships to ensure the successful implementation and on-going support of applications.

  • This includes after-hours on-call support.

Qualifications :

Enterprise Applications Administrator I:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other related discipline; or

  • Associate degree in computer science or related discipline and 2 years of related work experience in business application development and implementation of desktop enterprise-wide systems; or

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and 4 years of related work experience.

Enterprise Applications Administrator II:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other related discipline and 3 years of related work experience in business application development and implementation of desktop enterprise-wide systems experience; or

  • Associate degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 5 years of related work experience in business application development and implementation of desktop enterprise-wide systems experience; or

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and 7 years of related work experience.

Enterprise Applications Administrator III:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other related discipline and 5 years of related work experience in business application development and implementation of desktop enterprise-wide systems experience; or

  • Associate degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 7 years of related work experience in business application development and implementation of desktop enterprise-wide systems experience; or

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and 9 years of related work experience.

Enterprise Applications Administrator Sr:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other related discipline and 7 years of related work experience in business application development and implementation of desktop enterprise-wide systems experience; or

  • Associate degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 9 years of related work experience in business application development and implementation of desktop enterprise-wide systems experience; or

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and 11 years of related work experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of information technologies.

  • Conceptual knowledge of structural, design, development, and integration techniques and knowledge of desktop application systems development, selection, configuration, and implementation criteria.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Able to manage time, provide estimations of time required to complete work, and adapt by developing technical and professional skills.

  • Excellent customer service and time management skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • A valid driver’s license.

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:

This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position and to move about the office building, occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, constant use of keyboard/computer and other office productivity machinery, bending, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position requires the ability to communicate and must be able to clearly exchange accurate information. It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures, and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines. Occasional travel required.
