CRST’s Flatbed Solutions team delivers reliable and versatile flatbed trucking services across North America. From straightforward to complex transportation needs, our extensive network of agents and owner-operators with traditional and specialized flatbed trailers is equipped to handle it all. Whether it's long-haul, regional, or local, CRST has customers covered. With one of the nation’s largest fleets of side kits, we ensure cargo is protected from harsh conditions.

The Position

Reporting Structure: The Senior Manager - Finance reports to the Controller, Flatbed Solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

The Senior Manager – Finance is responsible for leading financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, and supporting the business with analysis and recommendations to enhance performance. Key responsibilities include:

• Financial Accuracy and Closing Activities: Ensure the accuracy of financial data, including performing or reviewing month-end closing activities and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor staff, including writing performance appraisals, hiring, disciplining, and termination decisions with management approval.

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating the budgeting and forecasting processes for the business unit or international support budgets.

• Data Consolidation and Presentation: Consolidate and present financial data, including preparing information for quarterly board packages.

• Operational Collaboration: Collaborate with internal personnel to support the business unit and serve as a prime contact for financial information.

• Operational Metrics Monitoring: Understand and monitor key operating metrics, providing management with analysis and recommendations to improve efficiency, drive cost savings, and enhance performance.

• Strategic Recommendations: Provide actionable insights and financial guidance to support business growth and operational excellence.

• Special Projects: Lead and support financial projects, including process improvements and cost-optimization initiatives.

• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory standards.

• Other Duties: Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support business objectives.

Experience and Requirements

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Four-year degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

Experience:

• 10+ years of related finance and/or accounting experience, including 5 years in leadership roles.

• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.

• History of working with agents and/or contractors preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced MS Office knowledge, specifically with MS Excel.

• Experience with transportation industry software, including:

• LME/McLeod

• Comdata

• Licensing

• Best Pass Toll
