THE JOB

We are seeking an Operations Manager to support business operations ensuring that the venue and all related matters operate within the scope of Live Nation standards, policies and procedures. Reporting to the General Manager, this individual will be a motivated and experienced member of the Venue Management team. This position exercises overall responsibility for event staff oversight, management over physical plant projects and maintenance, and partners with local leadership to ensure optimal experiences for guests, staff, artist teams, and the community.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of facility operations and maintenance, including but not limited to front of house operations, preventive maintenance, third party contracting, capital projects, limited governmental relationships, staffing, and ongoing venue set-up and tear-down

  • Work directly with Department Managers to plan for and perform day of show duties

  • Oversee creation of pre-shift checklists and event schedule and relay information from management directly to crew

  • Ensure all tasks are handled either personally or through delegation to other crew members when appropriate

  • Assist in creation and implementation of effective recruiting programs for seasonal event staff

  • Manage event crew new hire onboarding and training for in-sourced positions ensuring proper onboarding

  • Ensure all departments are adequately staffed for every event (comparative to budgets and for each event type).

  • Effectively manage and approve all payroll for in-house departments

  • Perform opening/running/closing duties according to Live Nation policy

  • Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by all staff at all points of guest contact by circulating through work area and reporting or addressing issues encountered

  • Keep current on, oversee and execute Live Nation policies and standard operating procedures, and effectively communicate them to crew members. Curate non-existent SOPs as necessary

  • Instruct Security and Guest Services teams on service standards

  • Understand and assist with HR compliance and communications

  • Respond to all elevated staff/guest inquiries, concerns and issues

  • Oversee implementation of artist meet and greet packages, amenities, and VIP programs

  • Assist with planning and logistics of ancillary sales and seat upgrades

  • Maintain the security of Back of House areas

  • Maintain and monitor records of all incident reports and investigate/manage all pending cases, including interviewing crew or other witnesses and attending arbitration hearings when necessary

  • Oversee the issuing of all venue credentials, business card orders, invoices, etc.

  • Responsible for all required governmental reports and files

  • Assists, in coordination with the General Manager, in preparation of annual operations budget.

  • Coordinate with facilities team to develop long term preventive maintenance programs, capital expenditure programs, and other asset protection and improvement programs

  • Ensure optimum operating condition of all amphitheater equipment

  • Oversee third party functions including but not limited to traffic & parking, housekeeping, groundskeeping, concessions operations as well as in house functions including but not limited to operations, maintenance, sustainability, merchandise and IT

  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and third-party vendors to ensure safe, efficient, and successful events

  • Development and maintenance of municipality relationships including police, fire, rescue, parks and other departments.

  • Implementation and execution of all Live Nation policies, procedures, and programs

  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the general manager and executive management

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

  • Candidate is a proven leader with strong management and communications skills

  • Extensive knowledge of venue operations and facility management is required

  • Minimum two years experience as House/Operations Manager or a comparable role

  • Experience working with local municipalities, such as police, fire, etc

  • Must have demonstrated experience managing multiple departments with large volumes of part time, event based employees

  • Previous experience with labor union contracts and management required

  • Computers skills, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential

  • Experience using Workday or timekeeping systems is a plus

  • Working environment is fast-paced and has a moderate to loud noise level

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs

  • Flexible Schedule (days/nights, weekends)

  • Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing, bending, stooping

  • Tolerance of all cultures, music and art forms
