"OFFICE LOCATION Arlington, Virginia, USAThis is a full-time remote position open to all locations in the USA, with a strong preference for a hybrid schedule in Arlington, VA, USA. The Office of Investments broadly uses a hybrid work model of two to three days in the Arlington Office per week. Remote work is available to candidates within the United States who are willing to travel to the Arlington Office regularly. The successful candidate must be able to work within core US Eastern time zone hours of about 9am - 5pm. WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER The Office of Investments' (OOI) mission is to support the funding of The Nature Conservancy's (TNC) global conservation priorities by increasing the organization's purchasing power through prudent and sustainable investment management. The OOI, under the leadership of TNC's Chief Investment Officer (CIO), works on all aspects of the management and monitoring of the endowment and other long-term pools of capital in excess of $4B. TNC's investment assets support the organization's global operations and most pressing conservation projects. The Head of Strategic Investment Initiatives, Office of Investments, is part of a collegial 15-person team and gain valuable experience in endowment management. The Head of Strategic Investment Initiatives will report to the Vice President and Chief Investment Officer (CIO). This is a full-time remote position open to all locations in the USA, with a strong preference for a hybrid schedule in Arlington, VA, USA. The Office of Investments broadly uses a hybrid work model of two to three days in the Arlington Office per week. The Head of Strategic Investment Initiatives will partner with the CIO to achieve the Office of Investments' (OOI) mission by serving as the cross-functional leader between investments, operations, and administration. The Head of Strategic Investment Initiatives is responsible for developing, executing, and sustaining strategic initiatives and special projects. As a member of the OOI's leadership team, the Head will provide critical investment thought leadership, direction, and expertise in the development of integrated communications strategies that further the objectives, plans, mission, and vision of the OOI. The OOI's ethos is to support TNC's mission and goals by clearly and dependably executing critical multi-faceted recurring workflows and bespoke projects required to operate a multi-billion-dollar endowment. The OOI is a dynamic team dedicated to furthering TNC's mission through inve tment excellence, extreme efficiency, and collaboration. The Head is expected to be a self-motivated, independent, critical thinker who can anticipate creative solutions and support cross-functional collaboration, by being incredibly organized, and resourceful, with excellent communication skills, acute attention to detail and follow-through. RESPONSIBILITIES and SCOPEInvestor Relations and Communications (40%)* Serve as the OOI's general subject-matter expert, handling all internal and external inquiries as the first point of contact and outward-facing representative. * Disseminate information on investment strategies and performance to internal and external stakeholders in simple, easy-to-understand language. * Serve as the OOI's client portfolio manager, deeply embedded in cross-asset class internal deliberations.* Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of internal OOI events (offsites, cross collaboration with TNC Development team) and external OOI-organized summits/conferences.* Develop and enhance OOI communication materials (presentations, website, etc.), including the biannual Endowment Impact Report.Strategic Initiatives and Development (40%)* Lead the design and development of all OOI strategic initiatives and special projects in collaboration with the CIO.* Work with the CIO to implement and monitor all strategic initiatives and special projects.* Communicate progress of all relevant strategic initiatives to the IC and internal stakeholders.* Serve as the liaison to the Investment Committee (IC) and oversee all internal preparation for IC meetings (develop topics with CIO, determine timelines to prepare IC materials, and collaborate with OOI teams and other TNC teams to develop content, presentations, reports etc.).* Serve as the OOI liaison with TNC's Development team, planning and executing outreach efforts aimed at opening untapped markets while deepening relationships within existing markets.* Provide insights into market opportunities to leverage OOI's capabilities.* Form key strategic relationships to take initiative and exercise thoughtful judgment * Travel and work flexible hours, as neededTeam Management (20%)* Partner with OOI's Director of Risk, Portfolio Strategy, and Operations to manage the 3-Year Investment Analyst program. * Manage junior staff on the team as needed.* Supervise the Executive Coordinator to the CIO, ensuring the CIO's schedule is optimized.* In collaboration with the CIO, align the OOI team as a whole, improving knowledge sharing, and encouraging team cohesion. WHAT YOU'LL BRING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Science, Engineering or related fields and 10 years related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Experience coordinating multiple large-scale projects, setting realistic deadlines, managing a timeline or related.* Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and senior level staff.* Experience working with a wide range of people, such as board of directors, donors, volunteers, the public and/or all levels of staff.* Experience in developing program-wide strategies and policies for domestic and international areas.* Experience with both internal and external stakeholder management. * Experience supervising and managing diverse and professional staff.* Experience in
