Description

The Controller will oversee all financial functions including accounting, budget and credit. They will establish and maintain the company's overall financial plans, policies, and accounting practices. They will direct treasury, budgeting, audit, and accounting activities. The successful candidate will effectively interact with other departments to ensure effective financial reporting and must have proficiency in all facets of commercial construction accounting.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all matters related to accounting including, but not limited to, the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and job cost accounting.
Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
Establish and maintain relationships with banks, financial partners, institutions, investors, public auditors, and officials.
Collaborate with other departments for budgeting, financial planning, and strategic projects.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
Assess performance through financial analysis and interpretation of data.
Oversee and support accounting team.

Requirements
Candidates for the Controller position must have the following:
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
5+ years of experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
Experience with POC (percentage of completion) is preferred
Experience in the construction industry or job cost accounting is essential.
A certified public accountant (CPA) credential is preferred but not a requirement.
Proficiency in MS Office and relevant accounting software.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently and with a team.
