Robert Half Attorney/Lawyer in Birmingham, Alabama
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Attorney/Lawyer in Birmingham, Alabama. As an Attorney/Lawyer, you will be handling a large volume of tort cases from initiation to conclusion. You will also be expected to lead and mentor less experienced litigators and paralegals within our team, while working directly with clients to understand their needs and guide them through their case.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and guide less experienced litigators and paralegals within the team
• Handle a large volume of tort cases from beginning to end
• Draft and file complex complaints, motions, and pleadings, responding to defendant's motions when necessary
• Work directly with clients to establish rapport, understand their needs, and guide them through their case
• Display informed decision-making abilities during negotiations and mediations with opposing counsel to successfully resolve cases
• Participate in all stages of trial preparation and execution, including witness preparation, research, opening and closing statements, and jury selection
• Stay updated on current case law, legislation, and procedural rules that pertain to mass torts to provide accurate advice to clients
• Advise and consult with clients regarding mass torts litigation strategies, potential outcomes, and negotiation strategies
• Use case management software for efficient handling of cases
• Manage documents related to cases and trials. Requirements • Possession of a valid license to practice law.
• A minimum of 7 years of detail-oriented experience as an Attorney/Lawyer.
• Proficiency in case management software and document management.
• Demonstrated ability in briefing and civil litigation.
• Experience in Mass Tort is highly desirable.
• Proven track record as a litigation attorney.
• Capability to draft legal documents and argue motions effectively.
• Experience in drafting motions is required.
• High level of emotional intelligence to relate with clients and colleagues effectively.
• Extensive experience in trials and trial preparation.
• Regular court appearances and a solid understanding of courtroom decorum.
