We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. This role involves processing and maintaining customer credit records, managing billing functions, and handling accounts payable and receivable.

Responsibilities:

• Process and maintain accurate customer credit applications

• Manage billing functions and set up billings for clients

• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable duties

• Follow up on client accounts receivable

• Utilize accounting software systems, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access to perform accounting functions

• Ensure efficient check processing

• Use Yardi for various accounting tasks

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take necessary actions for delinquent payments

• Resolve customer credit inquiries

• Assist with posting of receipts and crediting accounts.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access

• Experience with various accounting functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of billing functions

• Familiarity with check processing

• Experience with Yardi software

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Ability to handle confidential information

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

• Strong analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Willingness to continue professional development
