Director of Project Development

Full time 40 hours

Salary Range : $65,000 to $75,000

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of Project Development is responsible for the overall development and implementation of fundraising plans for special projects. The Director of Project Development is responsible for coordinating grant writing as well as the Agency’s major gifts and planned giving programs. The Director of Project Development works collaboratively with the Director of Community Engagement and the Director of Marketing and Graphic Design on successful completion of Agency fundraising initiatives. The Director of Project Development will assist in exploration and implementation of opportunities for new program development. The Director of Project Development’s duties also include, but are not limited to, the following items:

Requirements

I. JOB KNOWLEDGE

· Coordinate major fundraising initiative to support program expansion and enhancement

· Plan and implement short term and long-range goals for Agency major gifts, planned giving and stewardship programs

· Research grant opportunities and secure Foundation support for identified projects and programs

· Participate in community relations activities as necessary to promote the agency and cultivate donor relationships

· Develop and cultivate individual donor lists and profiles; initiate, maintain and follow up with acknowledgements and personal contacts

  • Keep abreast of area, State, and National changes that include laws and regulations that affect fundraising in the Not-For-Profit sector

  • Perform required duties in a productive and safe manner

  • Act as role model to individuals receiving services and staff

  • Any additional duties as assigned

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possess excellent interpersonal, written, oral, and communication abilities and effective time management/organizational skills

Able to work scheduled hours that may include overtime, weekend and/or holiday timeframes and maintain an acceptable work attendance as defined in the agency’s personnel policy manual and handbook.

Be computer literate with knowledge in agency operating systems and applicable software required for department needs.

Able to generate and present comprehensive written reports and respond to questions about the report

Demonstrate sound judgment in normal work and emergency situations

Must physically be able to lift 25 pounds

Possess a valid driver’s license record that meets the agency’s insurance carrier guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:

BA or BS required and a minimum of 3-5 years experience in Fundraising, Community and Donor Relations, or related field

-Or- A combination of education and experience that in the opinion of the reviewing agency, exceeds the above standards of the program
