Summary of Position:
Reporting to the Dean of Student Life and serving on the Student Life Leadership Team, the Director of Student Conduct is responsible for the administration of the University's student conduct code/system. Responsibilities include reviewing incident reports, meeting with involved parties, investigating incidents, and adjudicating cases according to established policies and procedures. The Director of Student Conduct provides training for University hearing officers/conduct case managers who administer the policies and procedures of the conduct code/system, offers alternative forms of dispute resolution, when appropriate, and provides information and referral regarding legal and regulatory issues in higher education. The Office of Student Conduct is committed to a non-adversarial, educational, learning/development-based, and restorative conduct philosophy. The Office of Student Conduct assists students in understanding their rights and responsibilities as community members and serves as a liaison to faculty, staff, and community members in response to conduct matters. This position also collaborates with other campus departments to provide support with behavioral intervention strategies to assist students in their overall well-being and academic success.
