Beverly Hospital is seeking an experienced and committed Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to join our team!
Beverly Hospital is a Level III Trauma Center and not-for-profit community hospital. Located on the North Shore of Massachusetts, the hospital is part of the renowned Beth Israel Lahey Health System and utilizes the integrated resources to provide high quality care for our patients, including for neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients. Inpatient maternity and psychiatry services are also offered for the community. The Pharmacy Department provides services to the Northeast Hospital Corporation which is comprised of Beverly Hospital, Addison Gilbert Hospital, BayRidge Hospital and Beth Israel Lahey Heath Care Center-Danvers.
The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor role has the following responsibilities:
• Manages the pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns.
• Ensures that daily operations run smoothly.
• Responsible for the hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management of Pharmacy Technicians.
• Performs a wide variety of duties under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist relating to the preparation, distribution, and storage of pharmaceuticals for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
• Works independently and assumes responsibility for the implementation of various projects.
• Responsible for developing and promoting collaborative and collegial relationships with nurses, physicians and interdepartmental personnel as they relate to the pharmaceutical care of the patients.
• Responsible for the oversight of teaching and training other pharmacy technicians.
• Provides leadership and guidance to technical staff.
• Occasionally works at multiple NHC locations.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• Knowledge of hospital practice and operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact constructively with supervisors, peers, and other colleagues.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
• Current licensure as a pharmacy technician in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• Has completed their PTCB (or equivalent) national certification.
EXPERIENCE:
• Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is required.
• Prior experience in management is preferred.
• Exceptional aptitude or knowledge may be considered in lieu of experience.
HOURS:
• This is a salaried position that primarily works during the day shift but may occasionally work evening shifts. This is a Monday through Friday role, barring coverage needed on weekends pertaining to any special projects or rollouts.
OTHER:
• Free onsite parking is available to all employees. Beverly is accessible via the Commuter Rail.
