Catholic Health Services Physical Therapy Aide in Bethpage, New York

Overview St. Joseph Hospital, located in Bethpage NY, is a not-for-profit full service, 203-bed, community hospital that plays a paramount role in its communities. The Emergency Department cares for over 34,000 patients a year. The hospital has achieved disease specific certification for its Stroke Program which is designated by NYS as a Gold Plus Center. Other vital services include the St. Francis Imaging Center at St. Joseph Hospital, a state-of-the-art cardiac CT scanner, MRI, Vascular Laboratory, Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine, Center for Sleep Medicine, Center for Swallowing, Speech & Voice, and comprehensive in-patient medical, critical care and surgical services. Job Details Job includes patient care and non-patient care duties. Must assist PT’s and PTA’s with patient prep, transfers and treatment as needed. Assign patients and manage Inpatient physical therapy schedule. Responsible for Safe Patient Handling equipment training and competency. Responsibilities: Responsible for keeping departmental statistics, logs and bill review. Must be proficient in typing, Word and Excel. Position requires assisting with scheduling, pre-registration and insurance authorizations for out-patients as needed. Must utilize service excellence standards when interacting with patients, families, external customers and other hospital staff. Must provide respectful and courteous customer service Requirements: High School Diploma/GED required BLS Certification required One year prior clinical experience preferred Computer skills required. Must be proficient in MS Word and MS Excel. Salary Range USD $22.93 - USD $22.93 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
