Guardian Life Tibco System Administrator in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

At Guardian, we have a diverse computing environment. The main responsibilities of a Tibco System Administrator is to ensure platform reliability, availability, and serviceability; to provide technical expertise and guidance for both infrastructure and application teams, and design, evaluate, install, upgrade, diagnose, and performance tune Tibco platforms. Candidates for this position must be very flexible and responsive to the changing platform. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, capable of working independently or on a team, a strategic thinker, and results-orientated. The successful candidate should be capable of handling high risk and high visibility situations with ease. Strong overall diagnostic and problem-solving skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. The successful candidate would provide training and feedback to the team and develop their skills

You are

  • Able to install, patch, monitor, diagnose, performance tune Tibco software

  • Able to provide 24x7 third-level support

  • Able to provide SME advice on architecture, design, and implementation of new projects and deliverables to applications

  • A follower of best practice implementation process – checklist, pre/post implementation validation and checkout, exercised backout procedures for platform stability and high success rate

  • Able to analyze and performance tune the Middleware platforms Tibco, Kafka

  • Able to develop and manage Hawk rules, Confluent monitoring, Grafana Prometheus

  • Comfortable devising automation and autonomics triggers and scripts for best performance, self-tuning, and outage avoidance

  • Comfortable working with vendors in root cause analysis, managing tickets, collecting doc, devising workarounds, taking corrective or preventative actions, and implementing vendor fixes

  • One who abides by all requirements from Security, Compliance, and Audit

  • Able to provide backup support for IBM MQ, utilizing QPasa or IR360 monitor tool, SNS/SQS,Redis

  • Able to keep all platforms at supported software levels and apply CIS security patching

  • A team player

  • Customer service orientated

  • Experienced with Jenkins, GIT, AWS , Zenoss, Splunk, AppD

You have

  • Tibco Suite Administration (BW5, BW6, ActiveSpaces, EMS, iProcess) experience

  • Confluent product suite (Zookeeper, Broker, Control Center, Connect, Replicator, Schema Reg) experience

  • Experience developing Hawk rules, Grafana Prometheus, Confluent Monitoring

  • ServiceNow, or other ticketing management tools, Jira experience

  • Strong Windows, AIX/Unix/Linux administration skills and AWS tools experience

  • Diagnostic and root cause determination skills

  • Knowledge of JVM , Thread, Core dump reading

  • Migration experience Tibco iProcess 11.8, BW 5.14, 6.8, EMS 10.x, ActiveSpaces, Kafka latest versions

  • Experience with JAVA, Shell/Python Scripting, RDBMS, SQL

  • Experience with web services, certificates, SOAP, API management

  • Mandatory knowledge of adapters preferably ADB adapter, MQ, SalesForce, ActiveSpaces,CICS, File adapter

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities on a daily basis, often under pressure

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Experience with Tibco Suite Administration (BW5, BW6, ActiveSpaces, EMS, iProcess)

  • Experience with Kafka suite Administration

  • Experience with Windows, AIX/Unix/Linux, AWS

  • Experience with JAVA, Shell/Python Scripting, RDBMS, SQL

Education and Experience

  • 4-year degree or higher with emphasis on Computer engineering/technology

  • 7 years of Tibco Suite Administration (BW5, BW6, ActiveSpaces, EMS, iProcess)

  • 3 years of Kafka suite Administration

  • 3 years of Developing Hawk rules, Grafana Prometheus

  • Familiar with IT Service Management tools like ServiceNow

  • Experience with Splunk Appd, Zenoss, AWS CloudWatch, CICD tools

  • Strong Windows, AIX/Unix/Linus administration skills

  • Strong JAVA coding skills

  • Expert level JVM dump reading, end to end trouble shooting skills

Location

  • Holmdel NJ or Bethlehem PA with work from home flexibility.

Salary Range

$99,190.00 - $162,955.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
