Electric Project Manager

Role Summary:
Typical tasks include gathering weekly payroll, providing upper management with daily status reports, forecasting monthly cost and revenue, maintaining a project specific Microsoft Projects schedule and analyzing project budgets and earned value. The candidate will be working in five county Philadelphia area out of the King of Prussia office.
Essential Functions:
Project Administration
Assist Operations with on-boarding new employees (when required).
Assist in project office set-up
Create and communicate the project plan: safety orientations, training, etc.
Project Controls
Accruals tracked weekly and turned in at the end of every week
Scheduling work and crew make ups on MS Project for internal and external use
Weekly manager and cost per day reports to management
Review invoices from subcontractors to confirm production and accurate dollars
Work with Accounts Receivable and Billing Department to make sure all revenue is accounted for and accurate
Forecast month and year for each project
End of month explanations for variances in the forecast to management
Create purchase orders
Work with internal support groups (Finance & Accounting, Billing,) to set up projects in accounting system
Project Management
Develop, maintain and update program documentation
Develop and maintain project file system (physical and electronic)
Customer contact to obtain project specific details
Estimate costs based on provided estimating tools and or work with others to develop budgets
Ensure stakeholder notification and buy-in
Full understanding of the contract
Ensuring Change Orders are documented per the contract
Complete project close-out per company
Decision Making and Problem Solving:
Basic understanding of Natural Gas / Electric Industry standards and practices
Ability to interpret field conditions and communicate project requirements to the team
Ability to develop and communicate ideas regarding project execution
Minimum Qualifications:
Skills:
Basic understanding of the project life cycle as defined by the customer
Ability to apply basic project management concepts, and methodologies
Effectively ability to communicate between customers, client and internal management
Proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS
Proficient of financial practices and principles
Proficient in organizational skills
General understanding of gas and electrical industry
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum supervision
Education:
AA degree and 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
