Key Responsibilities:
• Patrolling and maintaining a secure campus environment • Enforcing laws, issuing citations, and making arrests when necessary • Responding to alarms, emergencies, and ensuring building security • Adhering to departmental, university, and legal policies and procedures • Continuous professional development and training • Maintaining proficiency in firearms, defensive tactics, and emergency preparedness • Conducting thorough investigations, evidence gathering, and collaborating with external agencies • Fostering positive community relationships, promoting crime prevention, and providing assistance services
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED • Valid Driver's License • ACT 120 Certification required • One to three years related work experience • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills • Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
This position is classified as Essential Services Staff, meaning it is required to report to campus and remain on-site during inclement weather or other emergency situations. Essential Services Staff are vital to delivering student services and maintaining campus facilities, safety, and security. Additionally, this role involves driving University-owned vehicles as a routine function, so a valid Driver's License and a good driving record are required. The position also involves working with minors.
