Logistics Specialist, Full-Time, Bethlehem, PA GENERAL SUMMARY: Develops transportation systems to implement strategic corporate transportation and distribution plans enhancing transportation savings and increasing customer service. Administers policies, coordinates programs to insure constant flow of customer orders outbound, and inbound raw materials. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Transportation Duties: Arranges inbound, outbound and interplant freight by prioritizing material transit time for fast and efficient movement. Tracks and analyzes freight movement to optimize best overall service of carriers. Analyzes carrier performance through monitoring vendor and customer receipts to ensure proper delivery and customer service. Recommends and develops cost savings program and service improvements of carriers based on carrier analysis. Partners with cross-functional teams to facilitate the optimization of the customer experience as a transportation subject matter expert. Compile compliance fine information from customer portals, emails, etc. into a concise format for distribution throughout the organization which includes a summary and analysis. Communicate to other departments, within the organization, compliance fines needing research & analysis in their area of expertise. Problem Solving/Compliance Reduction Duties: Complete root cause analysis for all fines relating to transportation or distribution. Works with the distribution center, the carriers and customers to resolve issues and correct deficiencies which created the original fines. Manage the daily inputs for the Compliance Huddle Board. Pull reports to gather data needed for the board and work with 3PL to understand root cause of any shipping/labeling misses. In order to be proactive and avoid the initiation of fines, review the customer routing guides to ensure compliance with their expectations. Identify areas of non-compliance and resolve those issues with the responsible parties within the organization. Determine validity of compliance fines from top customers. Perform all necessary research to gather evidence and dispute invalid fines wherever possible. Follow up on all disputes to ensure payback. Report out to the organization in a weekly compliance update email what the fine $ were for top customers, what categories the biggest compliance shortcomings were related to, and report any compliance paybacks/fine reversals for the week. Also provide Management with a report weekly that shows: compliance fine $ by week (rolled up into months) for top customers compared to same time period for prior 2 years, all appeals by customer for current week/month. Track YTD fines as % of revenue for top customers on a monthly basis to be communicated to the organization via a report posted on Compliance Huddle Board. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Minimum 2 years experience managing loads of Transportation, Carrier Performance and Outbound Shipments or related educational experience. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Bachelor's degree preferred.
