Controller

Our client in the Bethlehem, PA area is looking for a Controller for a contract role. As the Controller you will be responsible for the accounting, audit, tax, and financial compliances of the company. he ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in manufacturing finance, preferably within the pharmaceutical or life-science industries. Proficiency in SAP, advanced Excel skills, and a solid understanding of GAAP are essential for this role.

Responsibilities of Controller

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.

  • Manage the financial reporting process, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed financial analysis and recommendations.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions.

  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process.

  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations and strategic initiatives.

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

    Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Controller

  • Bachelor’s degree in Account, finance, or related. MBA desirable. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.

  • 8+ years of manufacturing finance experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or life-science company, with at least three years in a business partner role

  • Proficiency with SAP is a must(proficient in FICO, SD, MM, and PP modules in SAP)

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
