[Functional Title: Sr. Scientific Researcher [Job Number: SRRESSCICOMPANY1 [Job Type: Full Time [Exemption Type: Exempt [Location: Bethesda, Maryland [Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 Annually **Clearance Requirement: Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a favorable suitability determination and pass an employment drug screening.

SciTech Services is seeking a Sr. Scientific Researcher with a strong background in neural crest and stem cell biology to support a program effort at the National Institutes of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR). The Sr. Scientific Researcher will perform independent research and provide mentoring to postbacs and summer students.

  • Responsible for routine lab maintenance related tasks.
  • Assist in lab administration and maintenance, including coordinating stocks of research supplies and helping to coordinate equipment acquisition and repair.
  • Mentor and train postbacs and summer students.
  • Participate and present data in laboratory meetings, departmental data sessions as well as national and international meetings of the field of developmental and stem cell biology.
  • Present and participate in the biweekly journal club of the Kerosuo lab.
  • Perform additional lab tasks as may be requested by the Principal Investigator.
  • Perform experiments and take independent ownership in planning and executing research projects that aims to be published in a high impact peer reviewed journal. Participate in scientific collaborations with other labs.

[Job Requirements ]{calibri",sans-serif"=""}

  • Ph.D. in Biology, or a related discipline plus 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience directly supervising trainees in scientific research.
  • Background in scientific publications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the Internet.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize work while maintaining confidentiality with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Exceptional organizational leadership, and time management skills.
