Insight Global Mechanical Technician in Bethesda, Maryland

Job Description

· Work alongside other contractors and government personnel.

 · Work with Mechanical Engineers to develop and execute novel testing plans, given that test objectives can differ significantly

 · Interpret engineering designs, plans, and diagrams into test setup requirements

 · Assist in configuring and operating industrial testing equipment for test events

 · Operate and maintain hydraulic and pump systems

 · Installing test sensors and control systems (i.e. strain gauges, fiber optic lines, data acquisition systems, etc.) in preparation for tests

 · Unscheduled Maintenance: Inspect equipment, and systems to identify any problems. Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures. Perform part or machine disassembly/reassembly as needed to ensure maximum operation.

 · Scheduled Maintenance: Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to plan and schedule repairs.

Skills and Requirements

· Minimum of 3 or more years of related experience in automotive/diesel repair/maintenance, industrial machinery repair/maintenance or other relevant field

 · Experience reading and understanding mechanical and electrical schematics and diagrams

 · Mechanically inclined with desire to learn and troubleshoot on the fly

 · Understanding of general maintenance and troubleshooting procedures and techniques for industrial machinery or auto equipment.

Experience with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance · Experience with industrial hydraulics and pumps highly desired

 · Experience with actuators, strain gauges, control systems, fiber optics and data acquisition devices

Experience fabricating custom piping, sheet metal, and mechanical components null
