As a Senior Technical Writer (m/f/d) at Stryker, you will create impactful, user-centric documentation for cutting-edge medical devices, including instructions for use and information for the patient. Serving a global audience of healthcare professionals, engineers, and patients, you’ll ensure all materials meet the highest standards of usability, compliance, and innovation. What You Will Do:
Develop clear, user-friendly product instructions such as Instructions for Use (IFUs), implant cards, and other documentation for a global audience, ensuring compliance with regulatory and user needs.
Collaborate closely with product development teams and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information and understand complex medical devices.
Lead the creation of content aligned with product labels, incorporating visual elements in collaboration with Graphic Designers to enhance usability and international applicability.
Plan, track, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, meeting milestones while effectively communicating progress to cross-functional teams.
Ensure all deliverables comply with FDA, EU, and other relevant regulations and maintain accuracy through rigorous reviews and quality management processes.
What You Will Need:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Technical Communication, Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of technical writing experience.
Excellent English language skills, enabling collaboration with local and global stakeholders.
Preferred:
Experience in a regulated industry, such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals. Familiarity with EU MDR would be a plus.
Proficiency in tools like Adobe InDesign, XML, Arbortext, or enterprise CMS systems.
Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new software tools.
Sufficient German language skills to collaborate with local teams.

Additional information
The position is initially limited to 12 months, with a high likelihood of extension for an additional 12 months. In addition, due to the large number of different positions and areas of responsibility, Stryker often offers the options of being taken on in a permanent position.
Thanks to our flexible working hours model, you will have the opportunity to work partially from the home office. However, a regular presence on site at our location in Freiburg OR Berlin should be always given to build sustainable relationships and maintain personal contact with colleagues as well as the departments.
