Job Title: Media Prep Technician

Must have industry experience with cell culture and media prep.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Media Prep Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for manufacturing liquid media by following batch records and SOPs, maintaining an inventory of media components, managing data collection, ensuring a clean and organized workspace, and managing a media production schedule within a team environment. This role requires good documenting practices, aseptic techniques, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture liquid media by following batch records and SOPs.

  • Maintain an inventory of media components and completed liquid media preparations.

  • Proficiently collect and manage data.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

  • Manage a media production schedule in a team environment.

  • Maintain JIRA board to track status, requests, and deliveries of media orders from researchers.

  • Communicate with requestors on media preparation activities, observations, and status of preparations.

  • Basic troubleshooting with the team if issues arise or media specifications are not met.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in cell culture and laboratory environments.

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in Media Prep, preferably in a non-academic setting.

  • High School diploma plus five (5) years of lab experience or equivalent experience required.

  • Ability to work on your feet, standing or walking up to 80% of the shift.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Effective time management and organizational skills.

  • Strong math skills.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic internet use.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in Media Prep, preferably in a non-academic setting.

Work Environment

This position is onsite in Emeryville. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with some flexibility in start time depending on media and team needs. You will be working in a small team of two additional people plus yourself.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00
