Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District Data and Medicaid Support Specialist in Bergland, Michigan
The GOISD seeks a team member to support Medicaid documentation and the technical assistance monitor work. The Special Education Data & Medicaid Support Specialist, under the direction of the Technical Assistance (TA) Monitor, manages Michigan and federal reporting for Gogebic and Ontonagon counties. This role combines clerical duties with responsibilities in Medicaid compliance, data reporting, and special education oversight. Essential tasks include ensuring timely submission of pupil accounting data, supporting data platforms, monitoring special education compliance, and assisting with state assessment coordination to meet district, state, and federal requirements.
*Work Environment: *
The primary location for this position is the GOISD Special Education Office in Bergland, Michigan, with occasional travel to local school districts within Gogebic and Ontonagon counties and other areas of the state for training purposes.
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in business, accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in finance, special education, or Medicaid billing.
- At least three years of experience in state reporting, the medical field, special education compliance, or data management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, Zoom, and student information systems such as PowerSchool.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish and maintain physical and electronic filing systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, ability to work independently, and a professional attitude and appearance.
- Flexibility and willingness to take on various tasks and responsibilities as needed.
- Experience handling sensitive materials and maintaining confidentiality.
Compensation:
Based on degree and experience per GOISD Support Staff Wage Scale (minimum of $22.75 per hour).
