Ohio Means Jobs/Cuyahoga County is sourcing experienced Welders for a local employee-owned company that designs, fabricates, and maintains high-temperature and corrosion-resistant alloys. First and second shifts are available. Position Summary: Plans, lays out and performs complex welding operations on a wide variety of metals, including stainless steel, and alloys (nickel alloy) in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
Position Responsibilities:
· Performs GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW welding
· Works on traditional projects and can perform most fit ups that AECO requires.
· Understands advanced blueprint reading and welding symbol interpretation.
· Works independently regularly, and judgement can be trusted.
· Understands time expectations and most jobs are completed within time estimates.
Competencies and Attributes Needed:
· Workmanship meets or exceeds ASME and AWS requirements.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
· Accountability to own projects with little oversight on non ASME projects.
· Passion to learn and grow.
· Accountability to the team and attendance
Qualifications:
· Experience with basic welding principles and symbols.
· Basic math skills: convert fractions into decimals
· Minimum of 5 years of MIG and TIG experience
· Performs GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW welding with at least one certification.
· Proficient with measuring tools; micrometers and calipers, etc.
Physical Requirements:
· Position requires physical capability which includes standing most of the time, lifting up to 50 pounds, and pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching as needed.
· Standard shift is ten hours per day, with Steel-toe boots and safety glasses required. Plant facilities do not have air conditioning.
