Youth Fitness Instructor - Bentonville, AR
Part-time, 1-5 classes per week
The Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness Center, managed by HealthFitness, is looking for a Youth Fitness Instructor at our state-of-the-art facility in Bentonville, Arkansas. In this position, you will be responsible for creating a fun, engaging, and educational fitness environment for children and teens. You will develop and lead age-appropriate group fitness classes and programs that foster physical activity, coordination, and teamwork. You will also contribute to the overall mission of the facility to inspire healthier lives for all members, particularly our younger population.
What you'll be doing
Develop and Lead Youth Fitness Programs: Create and instruct fun, dynamic, and safe fitness classes for children and teens. Tailor programs to various age groups and fitness levels, incorporating exercises that promote strength, flexibility, coordination, and cardiovascular health.
Ensure Safety and Supervision: Maintain a safe and supportive environment during all youth fitness activities. Monitor the well-being and participation of children to ensure exercises are performed correctly and assist when needed.
Engage Youth in Physical Activity: Encourage and motivate young participants to engage in and enjoy physical activity, fostering a lifelong commitment to health and fitness.
Collaborate with Youth Director on Program Development: Work closely with the Youth Director to develop new programs or enhance existing ones, incorporating feedback from both parents and participants to ensure continuous improvement.
Track Participant Progress and Provide Feedback: Observe and document the physical progress of participants over time, providing both positive feedback and constructive guidance to help children improve their fitness skills and confidence.
Communicate with Parents and Guardians: Maintain open and clear communication with parents about their children’s participation, progress, and any safety or behavioral concerns that arise during fitness sessions.
Maintain Equipment and Fitness Areas: Ensure all fitness equipment used for youth programs is properly set up, cleaned, and maintained. Report any safety concerns or issues with equipment to the appropriate personnel.
Promote Whole Health Values and Teamwork: Model and instill the core values of service, teamwork, honesty, and integrity, promoting an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for all youth participants.

What you'll need to have
1+ years of experience working with children and teens in a fitness, sports, or recreational setting.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of youth fitness, exercise techniques, and age-appropriate physical activities.
Ability to design and lead fun, engaging fitness classes tailored to different age groups.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young participants.
Adult and pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety & Health Instituterequired prior to start date.
Compensation: $26-$30/class. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications.
