Position Summary...

What you'll do...

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager of Defect Reduction to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving efforts to reduce defects across our organization, while ensuring compliance with Walmart's code of conduct and values. This includes managing technical teams, analyzing data, and working closely with cross-functional partners to drive results.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical defects reduction area of the team to identify and resolve defects across our organization, with a focus on app platform tech defect reduction.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including product teams, to ensure that defects are addressed in a timely and effective manner, leveraging field testing and UAT testing.

  • Analyze code and design to identify defects and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to address them.

  • Distill technical limitations and emphasize the importance of experience and customer satisfaction in decision-making.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability, and encourage innovation and creative problem-solving among team members.

  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including technical teams, leadership, and customers.

App Platform Defect Reduction Expertise:

  • Drive efforts to minimize defects in app platform technology, ensuring seamless user experiences and maximizing customer satisfaction.

  • Leverage technical expertise to identify and resolve defects efficiently, prioritizing efforts based on business impact and risk.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure defect resolution aligns with business objectives and customer needs.

  • Field Testing and UAT Testing Advocacy:

  • Champion the use of field testing and UAT testing to validate defect fixes and ensure successful deployment of new features.

  • Collaborate with product teams to design and execute testing plans that simulate real-world scenarios, ensuring defects are identified and resolved before release.

  • Analyze test results and provide recommendations to improve testing processes and coverage.

  • Technical Acumen and Design Analysis:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of code and design, enabling the identification of defects and areas for improvement.

  • Analyze defects in design and provide constructive feedback to developers, ensuring defect prevention and design excellence.

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure defect fixes are implemented correctly and do not introduce new issues .

  • Gig-Driver Industry Knowledge:

  • Possess a thorough understanding of the gig-driver industry, including market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.

  • Apply industry knowledge to inform defect reduction strategies and ensure solutions align with business objectives and customer expectations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure industry insights are integrated into product development and defect resolution.

  • Technical Limitations Distillation and Customer Focus:

  • Distill complex technical limitations and emphasize the importance of customer experience in decision-making.

  • Prioritize efforts based on business impact and risk, ensuring that technical solutions align with customer needs and business objectives .

  • Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in across the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as computer science, engineering, or business).

  • At least 10+ years of experience in a technical or leadership role, with a focus on defect reduction and compliance.

  • Strong understanding of the Gig-Driver industry and ability to apply that knowledge to drive results.

  • Ability to read code and analyze defects in design, and to distill technical limitations and emphasize the importance of experience and customer satisfaction.

  • Proven track record of driving results and achieving goals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
