Walmart Senior Manager I, Software Engineering - Technology in Bentonville, Arkansas

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Senior Manager of Store & Club Inventory team will lead a team of software engineers in the development of inventory apps like RFID, Sales floor tool, Vizpick for our associates. This role will work with 4ITB stakeholders on roadmap alignment, partnership, and overall partnership.

About Team:

Focusing on customer, associate and business needs, this team works with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units, operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa to name a few.

What you'll do:

  • Technical Leadership: Drive the technical vision and strategy for the engineering team. Stay current with cutting-edge technologies and best practices in software engineering.

  • Business Acumen and Strategic Planning: Comprehend the business context of the work, make informed decisions that align with the overall leadership vision and strategy and identify opportunities to leverage technology to drive business outcomes.

  • Team Management: Manage a team of highly skilled engineers. Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment. Facilitate team meetings, code reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions.

  • Project Management: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure high standards of quality.

  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members. Promote continuous learning and professional development within the team.

What you'll bring:

  • A constant desire to improve, learn more and take things to the next level and a passion for adopting the latest industry best practices.

  • Must have experience leading teams and people in a technical capacity .

  • Experience with agile frameworks and facilitating ceremonies.

  • An Engineering Degree - B.E/B.Tech/MS in any stream - Computer Science preferred.

  • 12 - 15 years of relevant experience in building highly resilient, highly scalable systems

  • Problem solving ability.

  • Servant leadership attitude, every day

  • Strong in competencies around planning, communication, and stakeholder management

  • CI/CD experience including automated Testing experience with mindset to build self-testing code.

  • Well-rounded experience in Mobile app design and architecture.

  • Understand of React and Mobile development overall from a system, business, and enterprise perspective.

  • You understand Java and/or other enterprise stack programming languages and are well versed with building resilient systems at scale.

  • Experience in architecting enterprise systems .

  • Solid knowledge/experience with asynchronous programming

  • A great eye for detail and can articulate the specifics of quality design while enforcing engineering principles.

  • Your organized, disciplined, and can manage large projects simultaneously.

  • A high standard for code quality and can hold contributors accountable.

  • Strategic thinking and ability to craft vision and technology strategy.

  • Stellar collaboration/communication skills (track record of working with multiple stakeholders, dealing with complex business problems, handling conflicts, communicating timelines, etc.)

  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

The annual salary range for this position is $95,000.00-$167,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

  • Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
