The business objective of the Data Governance Foundation is to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data required for managing the risk of the bank and supporting related key business decision.

We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Vice President, Data Governance Foundation Senior Lead Analyst - Hybrid based in Bangalore, India.

The Data Governance Foundation Lead Analyst plays a crucial role in shaping and supporting the company's Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, particularly the Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Risk Taxonomy. This role is instrumental in ensuring HR Data aligns with the company’s Data Governance principles to meet regulatory obligations, support business decision-making, and mitigate compliance risks. Establishing a robust data quality control environment is essential for maintaining data governance and regulatory compliance across the enterprise.

This individual will work closely with process owners, data owners, and data consumers to understand their data quality requirements, identify critical data for success, and support sustainable data reliability. The Lead Analyst will focus on key areas, including the identification, measurement, and reporting of data risks, policy adoption, enhancement of data control frameworks, and issue tracking to fulfill regulatory and audit requirements.

This role demands a dynamic, adaptable candidate with strong communication and diplomatic skills to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing a diverse set of responsibilities in a complex, evolving environment.

In this role, you’re expected to:

  • Policy and Framework Implementation: Collaborate with multiple teams to implement Data Quality standards through a rigorous Data Operating Model. Capture data consumer requirements and controls that address regulatory compliance risks at process endpoints.

  • Expert Guidance: Partner with process owners, report owners, data owners, and HR Data team members to establish ongoing data quality controls. Identify critical data elements, set up value proposition metrics, and maintain oversight to ensure controls are effective and scalable within the operating environment.

  • Issue and Compliance Management: Oversee and analyze data-related execution plans, maintaining accountability through ownership tracking, target dates, metrics reporting, and continuous monitoring.

  • Strategy Roll-Out: Support and coordinate with business lines and global HR functions to implement the enterprise Data Governance strategy. This includes maintaining Use Cases for applying the Data Quality Governance Operating Model and enhancing control frameworks.

  • Metric and Reporting Development: Gather and synthesize metrics to evaluate existing Data Governance practices and Use Case execution, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.

  • Adoption Measurement: Define and manage approaches to measure the adoption and effectiveness of principles, policies, processes, and practices across the enterprise.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4 - 6 years of relevant experience in Data Governance, Data Quality Management, preferably with DAMA and/or HR Data Quality management experience.

  • Project Management: Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, with experience in managing project timelines and adapting to evolving requirements.

  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to balance the needs of diverse stakeholders, managing tight deadlines while maintaining flexibility.

  • Effective Communication: Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts and tailoring messages to different audiences.

  • Analytical Ability: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize information and make data-driven recommendations.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, especially in fields related to Data Management, Business Administration, or a relevant technical discipline
