Job Description

This role will have the dual responsibility of being the HR business Partner for the Ophthalmology division along leading the Talent Management initiatives across the affiliate for all divisions across Therapeutics and Allergan Aesthetics. The role of a HRBP is to be a strategic business partner for all these employees with respect to their HR needs, operational and strategic, and also to be the first point of contact for the Leadership of all these businesses and functions to understand their strategic HR priorities and devise and execute the initiatives which respond to those priorities. The role will require in-depth collaboration with the Commercial Teams and working closely with the Sales Leadership and Managers to provide strategic support on areas on the People front. The second responsibility of the role will be to lead the Talent Management initiatives across the affiliate and develop and implement strategies, policies, and programs that align with business objectives and support talent retention and development. The role will also partner closely with the Director – HR to develop and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives to create a more inclusive and equitable workplace and align to Abbvie’s strong focus on Equity Equality Diversity and Inclusion. The role will also lead special projects and charters around domains of Employee Engagement, Employer Branding and HR Communications.

HR Business Partner:

•To front-end as the HRBP for Ophthalmology Division of Abbvie for the India affiliate

•Be the single point of contact for all employees of these divisions for all their HR related needs

•Regularly engage on a no-need basis with this group of employees through various processes in place.

•Liaise with the leadership team across all zones to provide inputs on all people matters

•Run Engagement and learning programs for the concerned teams on need basis

•Work closely with the India HR Director to drive all in country people programs with the defined audience

•Provide strategic support and people coaching to all people managers within the verticals

•Be the HR process custodian and inculcate the Ways We Work Culture within the teams

•Engage with field and HO leadership form these Businesses and Functions to derive their strategic needs from HR and to put in place programs to fulfill those needs.

•To collaborate with HR COEs to find out strategic and operational needs of the business on the Talent Management, Engagement or TA fronts and support to fulfill the needs. Work in the true spirit of All for One Abbvie.

Talent Management

•To lead the Talent management function for India affiliate by working closely with business partners as well as the Talent Management COE to understand the company objectives and construct plans and strategies to improve performance, efficiency and Talent Development.

•Identify the organisation’s needs and working to create and implement an efficient affiliate talent management strategy to improve business performance and enhance efficiency and core competencies

•Partner with the leadership team across the affiliate as well as the Commercial Excellence team to design and implement Leadership programs at various leadership levels. Support in roll out and content creation for specific programs which are developed at an affiliate level.

•Support and drive roll out and engagement across various Regional / Global Talent Management interventions

•Develop and implement succession planning strategies to ensure a pipeline of qualified internal candidates for critical roles.

•Analyze talent data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

•Regularly partner with HR business partners and leaders to drive talent initiatives supporting their business strategy.

Equity Equality Diversity & Inclusion

•Lead and support the planning and implementation of the EEDI initiatives in the affiliate

•Propagate and be the ambassador for Abbvie’s EEDI philosophy and partner effectively with the BHRs and Business / Function leaders to develop and sustain an inclusive culture in the organization

•Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to drive the D&I mandate by ensuring inclusive talent pipeline

•Drive initiatives around diversity leadership development

•Support in the design and execution of EEDI new programs and initiatives

•Collect, review, and understand the D&I Metrics and analytics

•Build stronger networks that allow the connection between ERGs, D&I Champions, and Business Heads

•Conduct of research on best practices & maintain relationships with D&I related organizations in order to set up cooperation and employer brand building in the EEDI space

•Lead initiatives around D&I certifications and emerging as the Top Employer in the D&I space

EVP and HR Communication:

•Drive the EVP mandate within the country for both the affiliates

•Work closely with the Country HR leadership to align programs and practices within the affiliates to position Abbvie as the employer of choice

•Work closely with Corporate Communications to drive initiatives to create employer brand awareness

•Work with agencies within the country like GPTW/ Best Companies in Asia to drive certifications and emerge as the Top Employer of Choice

•Drive ERGs and EVP Champions across the organization to create Pride at Work and Employer Brand loyalty and reputation

•Strengthen the HR communication piece locally

•Work with Corp Comm team to expand various mediums of communication and create avenues for effective channels for HR communications

Other responsibilities

•Work on various initiatives like Culture Week, Corporate Social Responsibility, CAT etc

•Drive standalone, special employee initiatives within both the affiliates along with the Country HR Lead

•Be an effective mentor and coach and upskill the HR team members

Qualifications

Education and Experience

•Full time MBA HR from a Tier-1/ Tier 2 Institute (TISS, XLRI, Symbiosis or equivalent preferred)

•10-12 years post-qualification experience in HR with experience of HR Business partnering and specialized / working knowledge in C&B and HR Operations.

•Hands-on work experience in HR Operations for at least 3-4 years would be preferred

•Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, fluency in English, additional languages desirable

•Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

•Excellent organizational and co-ordination skills

Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies (includes Licenses, Credentials)

•Multi-national organization working experience a must.

•Experience of HR Business Partnering and dealing with Senior Leadership on operational and strategic matters.

•Working knowledge of statutes related to payroll admin desirable.

•Excellent MS-Excel and analytical skills a must.

•Working experience in Workday or any other HRMS tool desirable.

•Experience of rolling out initiatives in above areas on one’s own.

•Team Working and collaboration.

•Decent interpersonal skills required.

•Should not be averse to get hands-on if required in the Operational areas.

•Willing to travel within the country (around 2-3 days per month on an avge)
