Cloud Engineering Development

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team provides you the opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. These solutions will use groundbreaking technologies to detect large scale events within a short span of time and in time even algorithmically predict a large scale event.

Position Overview

We are looking for a full stack engineer with expertise and real-world experience in architecting, designing and developing applications that are used at scale. You should be comfortable with API Development as well as front end application development.

Required Skills

  • 5-12 Years of experience delivering and operating cloud services / large scale services / applications.

  • Strong knowledge of Java, Python, Go

  • Writes correct, secure, maintainable, robust code and appropriate tests

  • Drives operational readiness & excellence of their features & subsystems

  • Collaborates on planning, and identifying and mitigating risks in their project.

  • Strong Understanding of Application Frameworks like Dropwizard, Springboot

  • Experience working with RESTful Services

Preferred Skills

  • Experience architecting services on OCI, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud

  • Hands on experience building large scale services through entire software development lifecycle

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present issueinformation in a clear, concise manner to all audiences.

  • Results driven; thrives in a development environment that is agile, collaborative and in start-up mode, even when faced with ambiguity.

  • Trusted to serve as Tier2 or specialized critical issue point for operations events.

  • Develops new metrics and dashboards to improve situational awareness.

  • Design, develop, fix and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

Responsibilities

As a senior member of our engineering group, you will:

  • Provide leadership and expertise in building high quality security components, products and solutions that meet stringent enterprise software requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance for projects in multiple security areas; in particular data encryption at rest and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).

  • Define specifications for new projects, and lead the design, implementation according to the specifications, drive architecture and security reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working with Product Managers through the entire launch process.

  • Facilitate high quality integrations with Oracle products and Oracle business units (Database, Fusion Middleware). Go deeper than exposing APIs and make real-world operational scenarios successful.

  • Work with team members and managers to improve current products and features, adopt new technologies and better architectural design. Overturn assumptions and think big.
