Google Senior Data Scientist, Product, Geo Data Insights/Analytics in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience with statistical data analysis, data mining, and querying (e.g., SQL).

  • 3 years of experience managing analytical projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with statistical packages (e.g. R, Python, etc.)

  • Experience working across multiple teams to bridge qualitative and quantitative insights to triangulate insights across teams.

  • Knowledge and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis and trends and measurement, statistics and program evaluation.

  • Knowledge of converting complex analyses into data driven narrative which includes presenting them across different media.

  • Ability to translate analysis results into business recommendations.

In this role, you will work with engineering teams across Geo on a variety of problems related to understanding the quality of the Maps data powering products like Maps, Earth, Local Search and more. You will also work on the connection between users and data quality, how to grow our ecosystems based on geospatial data and infrastructure, how to scale our state of the art ML/AI efforts and the impact of GenAI features on Maps users and contributors.

  • Create and expand analytical frameworks to guide data quality improvements across our Geo Ecosystems (e.g. Google Maps app, Google Maps Platform) and the most important markets in Geo's multi-year strategic plan.

  • Provide guidance to multiple Geo Data Scientists in projects focused on quality inference, Root cause analysis and analytics infrastructure development.

  • Partner with stakeholders across multiple functions to create data driven strategies accounting for a variety of users and requirements across geospatial use cases.

  • Guide the exploration of Geo + Cloud + Search signals and the creation of experiment best practices to connect data quality improvements to developers' reach and user growth.

  • Implementation of experimentation framework to determine direct connections between data quality and developer reach and engagement. Expand the externalization of geospatial quality measurements for External Communications (e.g. Marketing, PR) and cross-Google use cases.
