Cigna is a multinational organization and a leading Global Healthcare Service Provider, dedicated to helping people improve their health, wellbeing and sense of security. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a skilled RPG Developer to join our dynamic IT team.

Role

We are seeking an experienced RPG Developer to maintain, enhance, and support our IBM iSeries (AS/400) applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RPG programming, a deep understanding of IBM iSeries systems, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and efficient solutions.

This role requires a good communicator who can collaborate effectively with multi-location based stakeholders and team members.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance RPG programs and applications on the IBM iSeries platform.

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and efficient code.

• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.

• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather and understand requirements.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in RPG programming and IBM iSeries technologies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Proven experience as an RPG Developer with a strong understanding of IBM iSeries (AS/400) systems.

• Proficiency in RPG IV, RPG Free, CL, and SQL.

• Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies and best practices.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing workload effectively.

Experience in the following areas would prove beneficial:

• Aldon software change management

• Free format RPG

• iSeries Journaling

• ProfoundUI

• Modernisation tooling - X-Analysis or similar

• JIRA
