Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Marketplace product development team, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class compute, storage, networking, database, security, and an ever expanding set of foundational cloud-based services.

As a member of the OCI Marketplace product development team you will be a technical lead designing, implementing complex and scalable software services deployed across the globe with a consistent focus on quality and timeliness. You will be a development lead, be a collaborator and lead operational excellence in the team. You will be a mentor for other engineers in the Marketplace organization.

We’re looking for a a seasoned software developer with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, building valuable experiences for customers and creating highly available web services that operate at internet scale. If this is you, at Oracle you can design and build innovative new systems from the ground up. These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast and working on ambitious new initiatives. We need strong engineering leaders to build new services from scratch in addition to polishing existing services.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years’ experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems

• Strong knowledge on designing and developing RESTful webservices (using JAX-RS, jersey, etc)

• Strong knowledge of modern object oriented languages (Java/C++), databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies.

• Proven background in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.

• Practical knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.

• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
