Amazon Planning & Forecasting Manager, Amazon Private Brands in Bengaluru, India

Description

The Amazon Private Brands team is looking for an entrepreneurial, analytical and highly motivated Planning & Forecasting Manager (PFM) to join our team to launch new high quality selection under Amazon Private Brands. PFM manages customer inputs and works to remove inefficiencies in the supply chain. PFMs play a critical role in delivering the ideal customer experience, ensuring we have the right product quantities, in the right places, at the right time (i.e., “in stock” and available to ship immediately). To achieve this mission as cost effectively as possible, PFMs work to continuously optimize our end-to-end supply chain, engaging with internal stakeholders and sellers to improve operational performance metrics, and driving system and process automation with key stakeholder teams. PFMs own the operational components of the P&L, and are responsible for setting and executing operational strategies to optimize sales, margins, turns, and inventory health.

PFMs will have high level responsibility covering the below mentioned capabilities and skills.

a) Supply chain, Marketplace and customer experience: PFMs possess deep Marketplace and supply chain knowledge. They manage inputs that impact the seller and customer experience and are responsible for cost reduction and removing waste in the supply chain. The L5 PFM (i) Understands complete end-to-end supply chain and complex modeling of workflows on marketplace/seller central for PL (ii) Identifies and articulates strategic importance of metrics as a basis for managing tradeoffs, improving the seller/customer experience and making decisions with internal and external stakeholders. (iii) Adopts and tailors account management/supply chain best practices to meet PB requirements. (iv) Makes decisions based on analysis and proposes specific cost reduction and waste removal opportunities within and across categories and external support teams. (v) Identifies, manages and executes multiple medium to large sized supply chain projects. The projects are typically cross-functional and involve external partners.

b) Automation & system enhancements: PFMs are responsible for identifying automation opportunities, improving non-automated processes, and building to scale. They influence and partner with technical teams to drive adoption of standards. Driving continuous improvement is a core functional skill for the PFM role. The PFM will (i) Proactively work to lead process improvement. (ii) Understands how to navigate across Amazon teams and systems to meet team business objectives. (iii) Builds networks with other peers and Leaders and aligns goals across Amazon functional teams. Does not rely on existing way of doing things; challenges best practices to invent novel ways of solving a problem.(iv) Assesses problems in real time and acts quickly to uncover any potential areas of risk or opportunity

c) Seller management: PFMs are responsible for engaging with sellers to focus on improving operational supply chain performance.

d) Strategic planning: PFMs are responsible for defining the operational strategy, contributing to the sales and operations planning process, and influencing internal and external strategic partners. The PFM (i) Dives deep to analyze supply chain and operation metrics and develop instock strategy for the category. (ii) Creates annual instock strategic and operational plans for the business. (iii) Contributes to OP1 and OP2 planning documentation and process (iv) Works closely with seller facing leadership and/or operations senior leaders on strategies to reduce cost, lead time, and waste across the end-to-end supply chain.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
