BT is looking for a talented Analyst to join our Data Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong background in Python and Groovy scripting languages. Experience in data governance, data management, and hands-on tool experience with Collibra and Ab Initio are highly desirable. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the Data Governance team, contributing to metadata management efforts and ensuring alignment with data governance policies and standards.

The role will involve working within the metadata squad translated and delivering processes to manage BT's Data, helping ensure that BT's data is managed safely and securely and plays a vital role in managing our data.

What you’ll be doing

  1. Participate in metadata management initiatives, documenting requirement study, business requirement study etc.

  2. Work closely with the Data Governance team to understand requirements and implement solutions accordingly.

  3. Utilize Collibra and Ab Initio tools for metadata management and data governance activities.

  4. Develop BPMN workflows with APIs and scripts like groovy.

  5. Develop python scripts to create integration platform.

  6. documenting data lineage and ensuring metadata accuracy.

  7. Contribute to the development and enhancement of data management processes and procedures.

  8. Utilize version control systems such as GitHub for code management and collaboration.

  9. Collaborate with the Data Governance team to ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards.

  10. Assist in data quality efforts, including data profiling and validation.

  11. Optionally, contribute to Qlik reporting efforts, providing insights into data governance and management activities

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

  2. 3 to 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on Python and Groovy scripting.

  3. Solid understanding of data governance principles and practices.

  4. Hands-on experience with Collibra and Ab Initio tools preferred.

  5. Experience working with metadata management

  6. Proficiency in version control systems such as GitHub.

  7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  9. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
