Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineering Manager will be responsible leading the mechanical design activities for product development at the Bangalore Digital Technology Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
• Develops and mentors mechanical engineering group by providing necessary guidance, identifying necessary training, and providing professional development activities to build competence and depth.
• Works with the Program Manager and Director of R&D to assign mechanical resources, plan required task, manage project priorities, and provide feedback.
• Applies strong analytical skills to identify and understand customer/user needs, market requirements, technical requirements, human factors needs, and translation to the finished design output.
• Applies engineering principles to guide the design team and provide solution of mechanical problems.
• Develops necessary mechanical models for sub-systems and system integration to guide product design.
• Generate intellectual property referenced to the mechanical design and manage the department portfolio
• Provide technical experts to spurt the legal department to research and evaluate competitors’ technology.
• Supports integration of mechanical system level technical inputs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including SW, HW experts.
• Responsible for managing resources internally & externally to spurt multipool projects.
• Generate required CAD Models, 2-D dimensioned drawings, tolerance analysis, feature function maps, and mechanical dFMEAs.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and design documentation for the DHF and DMR as required.
• Support design feasibility, design verification, and design validation activities with the development necessary test fixtures, and test methods.
• Exercises judgement based on multiple sources of information in support of new product / product line extension projects and/or product optimization development projects.
• Develop, execute and document project assignments in compliance with committed timelines and project goals, and per established governance policies and guidelines.
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
• Promotes, leads and supports an agile and lean development process.
• Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Education and Experience:
• Education or Equivalent Experience: Mechanical Engineering Degree or Equivalent
• Experience Medical Device Development
• Experience: 8-10 of Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• This position requires a highly organized person who is articulate and personable, acts as a resource for other team members, has in-depth knowledge and experience in medical device development, and demonstrates initiative and commitment to quality in all tasks.
• Proficient with Solid works, FEA Software, Microsoft Office suite software, and project management software such as Microsoft Project and/or DevOps.
• Proficient in statistical analysis techniques and Minitab.
• Willingness to work in a global and virtual environment and to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
• Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies always

• Occasional on-call work required
