Position Overview

The Boeing Company is seeking a Lead Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer. Boeing India Engineering oversees the design, development, manufacture, integration and testing of LRU designs for various Avionics systems. This position is located in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The engineer will lead in analyzing customer and system requirements to develop architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products, for new designs and reverse engineering products.

  • Duties will be architecting and creating Hardware design and verification plans, detailed design, requirements decomposition and testing and integration of hardware. Leads Card Design and development of state-of-the art electronics using DO254 processes and necessary documentation for the same.

  • Responsible for digital design, timing, worst case circuit analysis, and communications systems

  • Ability to simplify circuits containing flash, processors, FPGAs and memories to explain the underlying concepts clearly

  • Develop architecture with circuits involving SERDES, Audio-Video and Intel architectures.

  • Develop high speed interface-based circuit designs and work with mechanical teams for thermal analysis and electromechanical packaging.

  • Candidate shall coordinate with Program Engineering (Project, Design, Manufacturing, etc) to ensure safety of designs. Provide periodic update on project progress, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents. As a key role, he shall assist in estimates across hardware development lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)

  • Bachelor's in engineering degree or higher

  • Minimum 14+yrs to 16 Years or more years' in Electrical Engineering experience

  • Experience with analog/digital/power supply circuit designs and analysis

Desired Skills:

  • High Speed signal designs for multi-core processor environments and aircraft bus interfaces.

  • Experience on processor-based architectures and design interfaces.

  • Design and Testing of DDR3/4, PCIe gen3, USB3, LPDP, MIPI, SATA, Ethernet and I2C/SPI/UART buses

  • Good understanding of ARINC 429, ARINC 818 and MIL 1553.

  • Experience with Power Integrity analysis, HyperLynx SI, Timing Analysis.

  • Experience as a design architect to contribute towards safety and reliability design and analysis requirements

  • Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Analysis experience. Good understanding of grounding and shielding concepts, chassis design.

  • Circuit Design and Analysis for Avionics and Space applications with an application of Six Sigma principles preferably.

  • Verifying designs and performance via component, system-level and airplane-level testing. Participate in design reviews and engage in supplier coordination.

  • General knowledge of high-density interconnects relating to micro vias, fuzz/micro buttons, BGA packaging as well as high frequency electronics like RF micro wave, MMIC, photonics, high speed digital.

  • Understanding of configuration management, requirements traceability (DOORS) and related processes.

  • Exposure to Aerospace standards like DO-160, DO-254 & DO-178.

  • Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team.

  • Demonstrate strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Be fluent in written and spoken English, and have high degree of proficiency with MS Office tools.

Education:

  • Bachelors or Master degree in electronics engineering or equivalent discipline with 14+ years of experience in aerospace domain.

Typical Education & Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 14+ to 16 years' experience, Master's degree with 12-14 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, Electrical Engineering experience. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
