About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Financial Accountant.
Team member will be responsible for Tax compliances, which includes routine and periodical compliances. Team member should have knowledge SEZ regulations, GST, Customs, FEMA and other Statutory Compliances in relation to applications, submissions, review, computations, return filings, reply to notices, audits and other tax requirements. Team member should possess good interpersonal skills, stakeholder management and communication.
In this role, you will:
Provide consultation to more experienced leadership for financial accounting related matters
Perform complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts, developing financial statements and regulatory reports
Gather and review financial data for financial and regulatory reports
Review data from the general ledger, unit reports and various financial systems to ensure accuracy
Prepare and review account reconciliations and certifications
Analyze projects relating to financial accounting procedures, methods or systems
Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal controls policies
Provide functional advice and training to individuals
Provide support for compliance and risk management requirements
Collaborate and consult with stakeholders throughout the enterprise
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
A Chartered Accountants with experience (post qualification), willing to travel and flexible for relocation.
Should possess good verbal & written communication skills.
Certification on SEZ, taxation, GST, IFRS or IND AS certification, would be added advantage.
Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel ; Power point preparation.
Interpersonal skills.
Job Expectations:
Track and meet the compliances under Customs, Foreign Trade Policy, FEMA, RBI and other regulations wherever applicable.
Analyse latest changes in income tax, SEZ, customs regulations and GST regulation and update management on implications of the company operations.
Hands on experience in handling GST tax assessments, documentation, appeals etc
Track all the communications/notices from tax authorities and ensure responded on time with appropriate replies.
Provide relevant exemption information to stakeholders in reporting and ensure all tax exemptions are claimed by company.
Account all the month end-closing entries as per the requirement, coordinate with stakeholders and ensure books are closed as per agreed timelines.
Coordinate with Statutory auditors, internal auditors and compliance team and ensure audit done on time.
Provide tax support to supply chain management on applicable GST rates, TDS tax rates and other tax compliances expected from vendors and review of purchase orders, agreements/SOW and advise the stakeholders on tax implications, TDS rates, GST etc.
Understand on the changes in IND AS accounting standards in relation to taxation, US GAAP, provide an analysis to the management, and implement the same wherever required.
