About This Role

This role is for a Data Science Manager (M2) within the CDAI (Consumer Data, Analytics and Artificial Intelligence) function.

We are seeking highly skilled and talented Data Science Manager who will be part of an agile group of professionals that will work across the Consumer , Small & Business Banking (CSBB) core businesses and functions to provide deep analysis and strategic solutions to enable existing and new businesses to develop and expand. Specifically, we are looking for someone with an analytical acumen and ability to define hypothesis & assumptions, lay out data requirement, gather, and analyze data and apply the business P&L (revenue, cost, margin, etc.) levers to derive insights and refine strategies.

The work will involve identifying areas for opportunities and growth within each initiative leveraging analytical thinking & rigor to ensure that it correlates back to the overall strategy of the CSBB and the broader enterprise.

In This Role, You Will

This role is for our Customer Analytics team and you will be responsible to analyze and transform customer data into actionable insights for enhanced engagement and experience. Leveraging advanced analytics to drive strategic decision making and empowering businesses to cultivate lasting relationships to drive growth through a deep understanding of customer behavior across Lines of Business (LOBs).

  • Identify and manage analytical projects aligned with Consumer business priorities from project evaluation to results delivery

  • Manage and develop teams of individual contributors and/or managers to enhance business management decisions and execute on key initiatives and processes.

  • Determine appropriate strategy to plan, coordinate, and execute data strategies, analytical solutions, and advanced data visualization projects/results that support the business.

  • Ensure adherence to data management and data governance regulations, and policies and compliance requirements.

  • Nurture & develop the team to:

  • lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring analytical application of industry techniques, complex data from multiple sources and business insights.

  • deliver solutions that are long-term, large-scale, and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical expertise, and coordination of highly complex activities.

  • translate business problems into analytical solutions, and those solutions into business answers.

  • provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions that align to business key objectives.

  • Interpret and develop compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives for the team.

  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including senior managers to provide strategic consultation.

  • Manage allocation of people to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives.

  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.

  • Guide the team to think beyond regular deliverables, create more value-added work for partners and showcase capabilities via POCs, Value Stories and other similar platforms.

  • Work closely with business partners (internal clients) to drive strategic relationships.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of data science experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 2+ years of leadership experience

  • Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science

Desired Qualifications -

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Analytics & Insights Generation, Statistics, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training & education.

  • 3+ years of analytics team management experience

  • Ability to guide and work with team members to deliver high quality work and value adds.

  • Knowledge of analytical/data viz. tools & platforms such as SAS, SQL, Python, Tableau & Power BI

  • Strong technical skillset developed from managing customer analytics, including a strong understanding of segmentation, predictive modeling, prospect identification and targeting, customer experience analyses, and how to structure test designs for products, campaigns, and programs

  • Strong analytic and consultative skills to understand business needs and align those needs with analysts’ individual development goals and interests. Ability to deliver consistently against commitments that span analytics recruiting, delivery, etc.

  • Strong communication and writing skills with high proficiency in grammar and articulation of insights. Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent execution ability, detail-oriented, well-organized, committed, and results orientated.

  • Post Graduate degree (MBA/M.Tech./M.Sc. or equivalent) in any quantitative subjects like Statistics, Mathematics, Computers or Economics.

  • Prior analytics experience in financial services industry is good to have.
