BIETC is currently looking for Associate Equipment & Tool Engineer - Asset Integration & Systems Engineer (Functional Testing) to join Production Engineering team in Bangalore . These positions will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial (BCA) business organization.

A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration as these positions will focus on working directly with the Production Engineering Teams to implement the Equipment & Tool Design solutions.

This position will be located at Bangalore , India.

The Associate Equipment & Tool Engineer - Asset Integration & Systems Engineer (Functional Testing) is responsible to design, procure, and sustain electrical/electronic automated equipment used in the manufacture and system functional testing of Boeing Commercial airplanes. Also, to support other manual test and production equipment as needed to sustain airplane production. Typical projects involve gathering requirements from project stakeholders, which generally include airplane Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Metrology. Develop project scope and evaluate alternatives to make/buy. Develop specifications and/or designs using CAD system as required.

Associate Equipment & Tool Engineer - Asset Integration & Systems Engineer (Functional Testing) is also responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of equipment used in manufacturing processes. They will analyze equipment data, identify potential issues, and implement strategies to improve equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability. They will provide real-time support for troubleshooting equipment-related problems and develop and maintain technical relationships with customers, suppliers, and team members.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed Test procedures and defines instrumentation /configuration requirements needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan

  • Support test readiness reviews and safety review boards, oversee debriefing of the test team, incorporate lessons learned into future test activities.

  • Guide others in the design of test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements and Responsible for training new test conductors

  • Understand how to derive and allocate requirements at various levels (system, sub-system, software) and ensure traceability throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Implement the Standard Specification Process to author outsource packages with standard, verifiable, and high-quality requirements for equipment and tooling.

  • Utilize a Systems Engineering approach to decompose the production system and derive a complete set of requirements.

  • Cross-functional subject matter experts to develop and review bids and procurement specifications.

  • Analyze equipment data, including performance metrics, maintenance records, and failure data, to identify trends and potential reliability issues. Develop and implement strategies to improve equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability.

  • Understand asset repair, part interchangeability, maintenance, and retrofit processes and practices. This includes knowledge of procedures for resolving asset non-conformances, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Familiarity with electrical design and documentation standards and principles. Ability to produce engineering documentation and technical schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) tools.

  • Have knowledge of networking technologies and protocols used to connect industrial devices and systems, such as sensors, controllers, and other equipment. This includes familiarity with Ethernet, fieldbuses, device networks, and wireless networking technologies, both standard and proprietary.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION

  • Mechanical / Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering Degree or equivalent

  • Experience in complex Test planning, development, and execution

  • Experience as a Test conductor, Test Administrator and Lead verification Engineer

  • Experience in Automated Test Equipment with PXI, PCI, VXI, IEEE-488, RS-485, Can bus

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of systems engineering principles and practices.

  • Experience in Decomposing complex systems and deriving requirements.

  • Proven experience in Capital equipment requisition process or procurement.

  • Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and tools.

  • Deep knowledge / experience in data acquisition, processing / data mining

  • Knowledge of industrial networking, servers, and databases.

  • Data Analytics experience is a plus

  • Proficiency in conducting root cause analysis and failure investigations.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Project management skills

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+4 years' related work experience.)
