Aerotek A&P Mechanic in Bend, Oregon

On behalf of it's client, Aerotek is seeking A&P mechanic maintenance of General Aviation and corporate turboprop aircraft, including KingAir, Cessnas, and other PT6 powered aircraft. This is a fully on-site position in Bend, Oregon. Must posses active A&P license.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Aircraft Mechanic responsible for the maintenance of piston General Aviation and corporate turboprop aircraft, including KingAir, Cessnas, and other PT6 powered aircraft. The role also includes occasional line maintenance on narrow-body airline aircraft such as Boeing and Airbus models. This position will primarily be based at the Bend hangars, with some time spent at the Redmond hangars and airline ramp, servicing 9 airlines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on piston General Aviation and corporate turboprop aircraft.

  • Conduct occasional line maintenance on narrow-body airline aircraft.

  • Spend the majority of time at Bend hangars with some time at Redmond hangars and airline ramp.

  • Be on call every 3 weeks for evenings and weekends (will change to every 4 weeks when a second mechanic joins).

  • Handle callouts efficiently, performing simple work with MELs and deferments.

Essential Skills

  • A&P license

  • 2+ years recent General Aviation maintenance experience

  • Ability to use basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, ratchets & extensions, flashlight)

  • Eligibility for SIDA badge with required paperwork (valid US birth certificate or passport, plus valid driver’s license)

  • Willingness and physical ability to bend, crouch, climb stepladders, and work in cramped conditions in GA aircraft

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Airline line maintenance experience

  • Experience working on KingAir or other PT6 engine aircraft

  • Preference for candidates seeking a direct hire or willing to start direct on a contract

Work Environment

Work will be conducted in several aircraft hangars adjacent to an FBO at the Bend OR Municipal Airport and the Redmond Municipal Airport, which are about 25 minutes apart. The position includes line maintenance callouts on a weekend and evening rotation. The week of callouts can be hectic if some checks present challenging issues. Candidates must be willing to put in the hours and work in a quick-turn/line maintenance environment during these callouts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bend, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $60.00/hr.
