COIC is looking for a passionate and qualified educator who thrives in an environment supporting barrier challenged teens. This is a salaried position, \$4,193.00 to \$7,353.00/Monthly, DOE and Qualifications. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for working with teens and young adults in an alternative education environment. Background or familiarity with the Oregon National Guard Youth Challenge Program (OYCP) a plus but not required. Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) Licensure is required, Social Studies endorsement (preferred) or ability to obtain this endorsement within six-months of hire. Summary of Duties: The Oregon National Guard Youth Challenge Program (OYCP) is Oregon\'s only accredited statewide alternative high school. The program is tuition free. Eligible individuals are accepted from all 36 counties in Oregon. The school is a non-traditional model that operates similar to a military academy. The program is guided by military principles, structure, and self- discipline. Our staff utilize a \'hands off\', tough love, caring, and disciplined approach to instill values, train and instruct cadets. Cadets are eligible to earn a high school diploma, GED, or credit recovery of 8 certified credits from required class work completion. The school is accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) and approved by the Oregon Department of Education (ODE). Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: \' Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) Licensure with Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, or Health Endorsement. A commitment to obtain an endorsement within the trial period may be considered. Must maintain appropriate license and training hours as required. Preference for teaching experience middle to high school (Grades 6-12). \' Adhere to all Oregon Administrative Rules, specifically OAR 581-022-2410, 2415, and 2420. \' Assure compliance with applicable district, state local and federal laws, rules, and regulations. \' Knowledge of group facilitation, counseling techniques, and teaching methods. \' Demonstrated skill in record keeping procedures and practices. \' Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite Programs and Google suite programs, including Google docs. \' Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally. \' Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and work as a team. \' Exhibit courtesy and professionalism to represent COIC and OYCP in a manner that will maintain and promote the positive reputation of the organizations. \' Exercise discretion in confidential matters. \' Must pass a criminal background and drug test.
