We are seeking a versatile Senior Storage and Cloud Engineer to design and implement secure data storage solutions that integrate with our Azure cloud environment. This role will also serve as a backup for Azure Cloud Engineer positions, requiring a broad skill set in both storage technologies and general cloud engineering.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of IT experience with at least 3 years specialized in enterprise storage technologies
- Strong experience with Azure and cloud architectures, including EntraID, Intune, and other Azure native services and defender for end point
- Technical competency in S3, NFS, SMB, CEPH, VM Disks, Azure Data Lake Storage, and SFTP
- Proficiency in deploying and managing Azure cloud resources such as Virtual Machines, Data Lake Storage, and SQL
- Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments
- Knowledge of compliance management tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for endpoint, Azure Firewall, and Azure Key Vault
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to various IT roles
Key Responsibilities:
Primary Storage Engineering Duties:
Design and develop secure data pipelines with file integrity mechanisms
Azure Cloud Engineering Backup Duties:
- Support and deploy Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment when needed
- Configure and secure Azure resources using compliance management tools
- Deploy and configure secured Infrastructure as a Service
- Assist in managing and optimizing cloud-based systems supporting enterprise applications
- Facilitate the creation of digital evidence check-in process
- Implement security controls integrating with Microsoft EntraID and RBAC
- Integrate on-premises storage repositories with Azure storage capabilities
Cross-functional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of storage solutions with overall cloud architecture
- Provide expertise in both storage and cloud technologies for project planning and implementation
- Stay current with emerging technologies in both storage and cloud domains
- Mentor junior team members in storage and cloud engineering practices
Candidates must have experience and comfort working in a small team environment. This is a small team of FTE's supporting this program, therefore, teamwork, communications, and the ability (desire) to wear multiple hats is required.
Preferred Skills, Training and Certifications would be a plus:
SQL Server
