Actalent Weld Engineer in Beloit, Wisconsin

Description

• Supports and troubleshoots welding processes

• Investigates and documents welding defects to determine the appropriate cause and potential corrective measures

• Develops welding procedures that effectively utilize new welding technology

• Designs welding projects and communicates specific equipment and component requirements

• Troubleshoots welding problems and provides guidance for product material selection

• Improves production capabilities, optimizes welding processes, and drives weld improvements

• Evaluates and improves workflow

• Creates and updates manufacturing work instructions, equipment manuals, and technical specifications

• Evaluates production processes and makes recommendations for improvements

• Analyzes production processes, schedules, methods, and other data and then provides management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process

• Ensures that the company’s manufacturing processes are in compliance with all equipment requirements and limitations

• Provides flexible program offerings across multiple machines

• Ensures traceability and repeatability through programs and ERP communications

• Troubleshoots program challenges and reduce product inconsistencies

• Develops fixtures for program applications

• Manages fixture assets and instructions for successful and efficient fixture selection and use

• Problem solves and communicates effectively with work team

• Contributes ideas for continuous improvement of workflow and processes

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in weld engineering, manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering

• Welding experience with sheet metal, weldments, and large assemblies

• Experience with ERP systems, Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create drawings for welding projects

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes

• ISO 9000 experience

• CWI Preferred

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $105000.00
